Red Lodge Mountain Closed for Remainder of 19/20 Winter Season

March 19, 2020

During our suspension of operations, we have continued to work with State and Local Health Officials and in response to the quickly changing Coronavirus recommendations, we have made the decision to close Red Lodge Mountain for the remainder of the 2019/20 Winter season. This decision has weighed heavily on our hearts, however, we feel strongly about doing our part in controlling the spread of COVID-19.

"We care immensely for our employees, customers and local communities, which made this the toughest decision I have been involved in during my time at Red Lodge Mountain," said Jeff Schmidt, General Manager.

We sincerely apologize to our customers who were looking forward to skiing Red Lodge Mountain over the remainder of our season. We will continue to monitor the status of the Coronavirus outbreak; should the health recommendations dramatically improve and we receive one of our famed late Spring / early Summer snowstorms, conditions permitting, we will try to offer skiing.

We have relaxed our cancellation and refund policy for date specific lift tickets. We will review policies on other products and reach out to those customers in the coming weeks. Please note, we anticipate a high call volume over the next few days and appreciate your patience as we work hard to respond to all inquiries. In the meantime, customers are encouraged to visit our website for updated information and answers to frequently asked questions

The 2019/20 ski season was certainly one for the books with an abundance of snow, epic turns, and good times with family and friends. We are already looking forward to the next time we can all make turns at Red Lodge Mountain.

On behalf of our entire team at Red Lodge Mountain, we thank you for a great ski season and will see you out on the Golf Course this Summer.

HRDC’s Warming Centers to Close Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Effective Wednesday, March 18, HRDC’s Warming Centers in Bozeman and Livingston will close due to concerns of spreading the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, to people experiencing homelessness.

HRDC’s Warming Centers were scheduled to close for the season on March 31. The Bozeman location will today begin to offer limited day services to provide guests with appropriate outdoor gear, showers, restrooms, and wellness checks. The Livingston location is working with community businesses to help shelter guests in other locations and will provide appropriate gear as needed.

“We know this is a difficult time for our community and particularly those without shelter. This decision did not come lightly and comes at the recommendation of our Advisory Council. The concern stems from the ability to appropriately space sleeping bunks in line with current CDC recommendations and the number and percentage of our Warming Center guests that are included in the high-risk population. We will continue to work with partners to explore alternative shelter solutions. HRDC is committed to taking every precaution considering the vulnerability of our team members, our volunteers, our customers and our community. We have the health and safety of everyone in mind and intend to serve our community in the safest way possible. We are working on ways to minimize the spread of COVID-19 while still making sure the essential needs of our customers are met. We have made numerous program adjustments across our family of programs and services to be able to continue to meet the needs of the community and respond to surfacing needs,” says Heather Grenier, HRDC’s CEO and President.

HRDC’s Warming Center in Bozeman is located at 2104 Industrial Drive, Bozeman, MT 59715. HRDC’s Livingston office is located at 111 S. Second St, Livingston, MT 59047. To make a donation, visit thehrdc.org/give-now. Checks can be mailed to 32 S. Tracy Avenue, Bozeman, MT 59715. For more information about HRDC’s Warming Center or any other HRDC program or service, visit thehrdc.org.

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program

Bozeman businesses suffering financial loss should carefully read the announcement below and review the provided documents about reporting financial impacts and applying for financial assistance.
The most important step is to complete the "Economic Injury Worksheet" and sending it to mtdes@mt.gov as soon as possible. The worksheet is a simple one-page form. We suggest you report the financial impacts for the next 30 days. You will then need to estimate your revenues for the next month and then provide your revenues from last year for the same period. If you have any questions, please contact the Montana Disaster and Emergency Services staff at the contact information below.
Letter from Disaster and Emergency Services:

"The SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan program became available to businesses that were impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) with the recent legislation signed by President Trump. These working capital loans of up to $2 million can be used to pay fixed debts, payroll and other bills that can't be paid because of the disaster's impact.

SBA's Office of Disaster Assistance will coordinate with the state's or territory's Governor to submit the request for Economic Injury Disaster Loan Assistance.

In order to make an economic injury declaration at least five small business concerns in a disaster area need to have suffered substantial economic injury as a result of the disaster and are in need of financial assistance not otherwise available on reasonable terms. The method to determine impacts of the disaster is through the collection of Economic Injury Disaster Loan worksheets. The worksheet provides an estimated economic impact of each of the businesses.

The side stage bands are competing for festival attendee votes to become the 2020 Emerging Artist of the Year. The winner of this competition gets a set on our Main Stage in 2021.

2020 Red Ants Pants Music Festival side stage competitors:

Also featured on the side stage:
Side Stage Ambassador Larry Kiff
8th Annual Beard & Moustache Competition
3rd Annual Yodeling Contest
Cowboy Church

With 16 sides stage acts and along with a full main stage lineup, which will be released on April 4th, 2020,  you won’t want to miss the 10th Red Ants Pants Music Festival! Save the date: July 23  – 26, 2020 at the Jackson Ranch, White Sulphur Springs, Montana!

As always, the festival will feature Montana-made food, crafts, beer, and wine. Agricultural and traditional skills demonstrations, kids activity tent and so much more!! The mission behind the Red Ants Pants Music Festival sets it apart. A portion of the proceeds from the Festival goes to our Foundation – in support of women’s leadership, working family farms and ranches, and rural communities. Check out their great work here.

A message from the Red Ants Pants Music Festival about COVID-19
As a locally-managed and community-supported event, we have always put the health and safety of our festivalgoers, artists, vendors, community, and staff first…heck, there’s no hiding from our wonderful Sheriff in a town of 900 people! Our dedication continues now, as we want to ensure that all of you, and our vulnerable friends and neighbors, to remain safe. We are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following guidance from the CDC and Montana State Health Department while assessing the situation daily. Based on that guidance, we feel it is our responsibility to make our April 4, 2020 lineup release in White Sulphur Springs an online-only event. No matter what, we will have a live stream available to you to join in on the fun, even if we’re all stuck in self-quarantine.

A word about supporting our artists
One of the many ripple effects of COVID-19 is that gigs are being canceled for many of the musicians we’re grateful to welcome to the cow pasture. It’s a time for us to reflect on the fact that many traveling musicians are gone so often from their hometowns that we have an opportunity to be their “virtual hometown.” As a locally-run festival, we encourage all of our fans to consider reaching out to the musicians in your life to check in on them, purchase their merchandise, and share their music far and wide to help them build a greater fan base for when the need for social distancing simmers down.

As Corb says, “Take care and stay safe out there until the dust settles.”

Spire Climbing Center Temporarily Closed

After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our doors in an effort to comply with the guidelines described by the Center for Disease Control.  We have tried to balance the benefits of staying open for our community, but at this point, we feel we have a greater responsibility to the safety and well-being of our greater community.  Because our number one commitment is the health of our members, guests, and staff, it is vital that we take the necessary steps to help contain the spread and flatten the curve of COVID-19.

Suspending Operations

We will be closing our doors effective immediately and hope to reopen March 30th.   The impact of the outbreak on our community is changing daily, and we will provide you with updates regarding reopening as soon as possible.

Community and Staff

Our community and over 50 staff members mean the world to us and are what make Spire the great place that it is.  Without all of you, we would not be who we are!   We are committed to our amazing staff and plan to financially support them the best we can during this unpredictable time.

Youth Programs and Climbing Team

All participants will receive a prorated credit for the closure period, which will be applied to future dues.  For classes that need to be refunded or rescheduled, we will reach out to you soon.

Support and Patience

We are confident that our community will get through this, and we are already looking forward to seeing you back in the gym.  Please hang in there with us, support our community any way you can, and remember to wash hands and practice social distancing.  We believe in the long run this will only bring our community closer together.

If you do need to contact us, please do so by emailing us at info@spireclimbingcenter.com  We anticipate a high volume of requests and questions at this time, and we will respond as quickly as we can.

Thank you for your patience, and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being part of our community!

Sincerely,

Meg, Jeff, and the Spire management team

March 16, 2020 - Bozeman, MT.

Museum of the Rockies will be closed to the public March 17 through March 31

As a public health precaution due to COVID-19, Museum of the Rockies will be closed to the public March 17 through March 31. The health and safety of our community, members, visitors, staff, and volunteers is a top priority. This is a preventative action to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Museum staff will continue to work from the museum or from their homes, depending on the nature of their job. They will be available via email or phone.

We look forward to reopening on April 1 to share Montana with the world and the world with Montana – and our wonderful new exhibit, Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly.

Montana State University (MSU) is closely monitoring COVID-19 with information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization and in consultation with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, the Gallatin City-County Health Department, and their own health professionals on campus.

MSU campuses will remain open and operational for students. This includes residence halls, dining services, computer labs, and most other campus services. Employees will continue to report to work unless instructed otherwise. Work-from-home accommodations are being developed for individual cases.
