The sold out Modest Mouse show at the ELM on May 14, 2026 opened with an anecdotal throwback to the first time Isaac Brock performed for Bozeman in the 1990’s at the VFW; where a beer bottle was thrown at him by a bar regular uninterested in the performance, intruding on his drinking time, and Isaac avoided ruining his career by not retaliating with a flashlight. On this spring night, the ELM crowd feverishly welcomed the band and the opener, Mattress, an unforgettable and entertaining solo performer.

The Bozeman MM show differed from the Missoula show the night before with a mix of more classic tracks like "Float On," "Dashboard," and "Dramamine," alongside older deep cuts like "Teeth Like God's Shoeshine" and "Styrofoam Boots.”
Isaac Brock’s passionate punk-inspired storytelling, jagged guitar work, and unmistakable vocals still carried the same unpredictable energy that made his early shows legendary, only now met with admiration instead of flying bottles.
