If you can't wait until fall to get your documentary fix...

This Wednesday, May 6th, at 6 pm at the Emerson Center, The Montana Plan presents a free showing of Dark Money, an award-winning documentary featured on PBS as part of the 31st season of POV.
A real-life political thriller, Dark Money examines one of the greatest present threats to American democracy: the influence of untraceable corporate money on our elections and elected officials. The film takes viewers to Montana—a frontline in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide—to follow an intrepid local journalist working to expose the real-life impacts of the US Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. Through this gripping story, DARK MONEY uncovers the shocking and vital truth of how American elections are bought and sold. This Sundance award-winning documentary is directed/produced by Kimberly Reed (PRODIGAL SONS) and produced by Katy Chevigny (E-TEAM).
The film will be followed by a panel discussion about how Montanans are fighting back with The Montana Plan, a bold citizen's initiative to ban corporate money, dark money, and billionaire money from Montana elections. Attendees will be able to sign the initiative and volunteer to help get it on the ballot.
Dark Money at the Emerson Cultural Center, Wednesday May 6 at 6 p.m., at no charge.
