Hailey Hosken is an artist and graphic designer living in Bozeman, Montana. An avid climber, trail runner, cyclist, and skier, she’s likely to be out playing in the mountains when she isn’t busy working. Living in a mountain town with close proximity to Glacier, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Parks provide plenty of inspirational material for her illustrative work. She enjoys rendering detailed, vibrant interpretations of the wild places she loves most, using landscape as a vessel for exploring deeper thought.

Hailey began her art career painting bright landscapes in watercolor and ink, but has grown to enjoy mixing medias and materials to also utilize paper, collage, wood, acrylic painting, and gilding. The resulting works are heavily layered, physically replicating the geologic processes which form the very mountain ranges she’s inspired to paint. She’s constantly inspired by geology and the physical evidence of Earth’s systems at work, finding human metaphor in the way landscape can hold evidence of experience.

Hailey has loved painting since childhood, and was lucky to grow up in Anchorage, Alaska where she developed a love for color and the outdoors. She moved to Bozeman in 2010 to attend Montana State University, where she received a BFA in Graphic Design. Hailey has since worked as a freelancer and an Exhibit Graphic Designer for the Museum of the Rockies, while also setting routes at the local climbing gym.

She has done illustrative work for various outdoor organizations and companies, including the Access Fund, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, Sunday Afternoons Hats, and Gilson Snow. Her work has appeared in Climbing magazine and Outside Bozeman, and she currently has additional work on permanent display at Outlaw Brewing in Bozeman.
