Editors Note: No Particular Words of Encouragement

I have no particular words of encouragement to share with you readers this September, I am just hanging on, as I imagine many of you may be. This fall my three children were set to begin school at three different schools, including an incoming Middle Schooler and an incoming High Schooler. It was going to be a big year of firsts and we anticipated new friends and new experiences. It still is a year of firsts, but for us, it will be the first time beginning a school year from home on the 100% virtual academy provided by the Bozeman School District. Because we have worked from home for the entirety of the thirteen years we have published Bozeman Magazine the transition to emergency at-home learning this March was fairly easy for our family, albeit not a great fit for our oldest daughter who missed her Matilda performance and a class trip to NY/DC and did not go all-in on remote learning.
Our summer has been spent together, mostly at home, with a couple of camping excursions and yard camping for the kids. We have not made any trips out of state, and only one out of town to welcome (from outside a vehicle window) a new cousin/nephew. We got a puppy who has kept us plenty busy and very entertained. We kept in touch with friends but limited our time with them in person.
We are hopeful that this school year will bring excitement and opportunities we don’t even know about yet. And whatever choice your family made for this school year I know that it was a hard decision and you are doing what you feel is best for your
