December at the Filling Station
Brian Ripple | Sunday Dec. 1st, 2019
December is typically a slower month for live music in Bozeman, but this year might actually be an exception. There are events happening all over town this year and at the Filling Station especially. The first weekend of the month we will hear from local bozeman favorites Cole and the Thornes, with Worlds Finest and Indubious on Friday the 6th, and on Saturday the 7th they are hosting Helena’s 710 Ashbury Grateful Dead tribute (seriously this is real and they are from Helena).
Not to be out done, the following weekend on Saturday December 14th the Filler welcomes world famous Little Feat keyboardist Bill Payne along with Bozeman’s Hooligans. Together they will take the stage for a psychedelic trip up and down memory lane. Little Feat is known for their live album Waiting For Columbus, and songs such as Dixie Chicken, Fat Man in the Bathtub, Spanish Moon and Willin’. Hooligans are Bozeman’s longest running Roots Rock band consisting of some of the valleys best improvosational rock musicians. You definately won’t want to miss this one.
...And finally, launching Bozeman into the future that’s 2020 is local jam band and crowd favorite M.O.T.H. (Men of the Haufbrau). The Filling Station’s New Years Eve Shindig for everyone that wants to celebrate the new year in true rock star fashion. Established a number of years ago, M.O.T.H. is known for their extended song structures, live improvisation and of course their one of a kind light show.
