Wednesday Jun. 1st, 2016

Moods Of The Madison is a two day eclectic music festival in Ennis, MT. Located in the heart of Montana, the event heeds an unforgettable experience. Taking place July 15th and 16th, MOTM 2016 promises to be a Montana summer event to remember. Headliners include Bassnecter and Young The Giant, along with Robert Randolph and the Family Band, SOL, The Russ Liquid Test, Wolfgang Gartner, Rising Appalacia and the world famous Wailers.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band is an American funk, blues/rock and soul band led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph. Other band members include drummer Marcus Randolph, bass guitarist Danyel Morgan, vocalist Lenesha Randolph, keyboardist and guitarist Brett Andrew Haas, and one of three rotating rhythm guitarists: Joey Williams of Blind Boys of Alabama, Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff, and Cousin Ray-Ray. Jason Crosby (keyboards and fiddle) and John Ginty (organ) are former members.

Robert Randolph & The Family Band first gained national attention with the release of the album Live at the Wetlands in 2002. The band followed with three studio recordings over the next eight years—Unclassified, Colorblind, and We Walk This Road—which, together with tireless touring and unforgettable performances at such festivals as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, won them an expanding and passionate fan base. Randolph’s unprecedented prowess on his instrument garnered him a spot on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list, and also attracted the attention of such giants as Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana, who have collaborated with him on stage and in the studio.

There is also a great group of Montana bands offering support at the MOTM festival this summer as well. Missoula rapper Farch will be there, along with Lecture, and Woodburn, Nintendeax, Echodrive and Dubuddah. One Leaf Clover, Papa ChaChi, The Bent Bones and the Hawthorne Roots will also be rounding out the local acts.

One Leaf Clover features Kent Johnson on guitar and vocals, Matt Fegel on Bass, Mike DeJaynes on drums & percussion and vocals, and Mike Koziel - keyboards and vocals. Founded in 2008, One Leaf Clover is one of the region’s premiere purveyors of Mountain Boogie Rock. What is Mountain Boogie Rock? It is equal parts funk and country, rock and reggae, music and mountains. It is original songs inspired by life in the Rockies. Known for their high energy shows and playing until the cows come home, O.L.C. is both a testament to and a celebration of mountain life and culture.
