One night in January, Dylan MacNevin had a thought in the ten seconds before he was going to fall asleep: “There is no cult film series in Bozeman – there should be”. Like many people, Dylan has his best ideas right before he falls asleep, but he usually dozes off and forgets them by the time that he wakes up. This time, though, he knew that he had to get this idea out into the physical world. So, he got out of bed, grabbed a pen and a notebook, and started writing. Three months later, he and Eric Kofer are very proud to present the ChickenJam West Summer Film Series.

Every Monday night of the summer, from May 2nd to September 26th, ChickenJam West Productions is screening cult classics in the Eagles Lodge Ballroom. Some are definitive comedies, like Animal House, Airplane!, and Dumb and Dumber. Some are newer favorites, like Superbad, Wet Hot American Summer, and Mean Girls. A few of them take you on adventures, such as The Goonies, The Warriors, and National Lampoon’s Vacation. One film, Troll 2, is considered to be the worst movie ever made. Other films being screened include Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Pulp Fiction, Dazed & Confused, and Billy Madison.

The boys at ChickenJam West have been blessed with help from their friends in the community. Movie Lovers has graciously offered an enormous 9x16 foot screen, and the Eagles Lodge has donated their high-end projector and ballroom space RippleSound & Recording is bringing professional sound – the same setup used in concerts and shows in the ballroom. There’s no problem if you forgot to eat! Red Tractor Pizza is serving pizza slices at every screening, and fresh popcorn will be available as well. Unlike most movie theaters, customers will be able to enjoy a brew, a glass of wine or a cocktail from the upstairs bar. Because ChickenJam has received so much help from friends and sponsors, they are able to offer all of this for just $3 a screening!

The ChickenJam West Summer Film Series screens movies in the Eagles Lodge Ballroom every Monday night from May 2nd to September 26th, minus Memorial Day and July 4th. Doors open at 8:30 PM, and movies begin at 9, with all screenings being 21+. Come early to get a drink, a slice of pizza, fresh popcorn, and a good seat. All film screenings are just $3!
