Big Sky Resort makes a big leap in Ski Magazine’s 22nd annual Reader Resort Survey, with a ranking of 12th in the Top 30 Resorts in the West. The consistent average snowfall of 400 inches and virtual non-existent lift lines has pushed Big Sky Resort to beat out many Colorado and Utah resorts.

One reader was quoted, “the terrain is killer, value is unbelievable compared to Colorado or Utah and every resort should have the pool-size hot tub the Summit Hotel has.”

The readers of Ski Magazine rank resorts in 20 different categories, then Ski Magazine calculates those results determining the resorts placement into the top 30 resorts in the west. Of those 20 different categories, Big Sky Resort ranked in the top 10 for Overall Satisfaction (7th), Scenery (8th), Variety (3th), and Challenge (5th). Other notable category rankings for Big Sky were Lodging, Snow, Grooming, Lifts, Service, and Character.

“Big Sky made the single biggest jump in the rankings this year (+11). With four Top 10 finishes. And 7th in Overall Satisfaction is great” said Ski Magazine’s managing editor, Greg DiTrinco.

Big Sky Resort was ranked 23rd in the 2013 Reader Resort Survey. This big jump into the teens is a testament to the Resort’s continued efforts to create exceptional experiences for their guests.

“It’s wonderful to be included in the top 30 resorts in the west” said Sheila Chapman, Public Relations Manager at Big Sky Resort, “and fantastic to have been voted 12th in the country.”

Big Sky Resort will be opening for the 2013-2014 winter season on November 28, 2013. For more information about Big Sky Resort, visit bigskyresort.com. Ski Magazine’s 22nd annual Reader Resort Survey will come out in the October issue.
