Auditions for Irving Berlin’s WHITE CHRISTMAS Sept 23 & 24

Tuesday Sep. 17th, 2013

Montana TheatreWorks announces auditions for Irving Berlin’s WHITE CHRISTMAS. This is the stage adaptation of the hit movie which features such songs as “The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing,” “Snow,” “Sisters,” and the title tune “White Christmas.”

Needed are actors, singers and dancers. Available roles for ages 15 and up include chorus members as well as featured parts for men and women. There is also a role for a young girl, age 9 – 11, who sings with a big voice.

If you are interested in the role of the young girl, auditions will be held at The Ellen Theatre on Monday, September 23rd and Tuesday, September 24th at 6:30 PM.

For all other roles, auditions will be held at 7 PM on both Monday, September 23rd and Tuesday, September 24th. It is only necessary to attend one of the auditions days but all should be available for a possible call back audition at 7 PM on Wednesday, September 25th.

It is best if those auditioning prepare a song and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Please note that there will be no accommodation for recorded music tracks on iPods or CDs. Those with a prepared song will be seen first.

For the dancing roles, there will be a movement audition. Please wear comfortable clothes and dance shoes, sneakers or other shoes that are good for movement. This show does feature tap dancing in one number, so if you have that specialty, please bring tap shoes. For safety reasons, open-toed sandals and flip flops will not be allowed.

For those interested in a featured role, you may be asked to read from the script.

Rehearsals will begin Monday, September 30th and be held Monday through Thursday in the evenings as well as some Saturdays during the day.

The show will open Friday, December 6th and run for twelve performances at The Ellen Theatre, with the final show on Sunday, December 22nd.
