During the month of July Peggy Kohler (MACK) and Kaye Light will be showing new works at the Artists’ Gallery in the Emerson

Wednesday Jun. 19th, 2013

MACK (Margaret Anne Campbell Kohler) grew up in Alaska on the family commercial fishing boat. Very early in life she developed a great love for art and singing opera, so she pursued both. Her art is a colorful depiction of multi-ethnic characters representing the world family we all belong to. Her paintings are inspired by Yup’ic Eskimo masks as well as ethnic influences from around the world. MACK sells originals, prints, cards, ornaments and will launch her jewelry line in July 2013.

Kaye Light moved from her home in the woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the mountains of Montana and never looked back. In her mid-thirties she made a career change into the apparel industry by earning a Master’s degree in apparel design from Virginia Tech. A love of textiles led her into the world of silk painting. Her silk paintings range from an explosion of vibrant color to more subtle depictions of nature. She will have a selection of silk scarves and wall hangings for sale at the Gallery during the month of July.

Join in the celebration of summertime by attending the 2nd of this year’s Downtown Artwalk on Friday July 12th. Start your Artwalk at the Artists’ Gallery at 5:00 – then proceed to the Main Street galleries when the Downtown Artwalk begins at 6:00. Come and meet the artists with a glass of wine.
