New Kid’s Art Classes at the Emerson
Friday Jan. 25th, 2013
The Emerson has expanded their art program to include toddlers and children of all ages
with their families. We offer a Family Clay Day for ages 2+ where families can create
leprechaun and “bunny” sculptures. The Emerson offers Family Art Samplers for all ages on
Wednesday evenings from February 6 – May 8th. Projects include Valentines Cards, clay
whistles, ribbon pinned Easter eggs and Mother’s Day origami birds. Sign up for each class
individually. Check out our weekend pottery workshop for ages 8-adult, featuring Animal
Sculptures from earthenware clay.
Young children ages 4-8 are invited to participate in Little Kid’s Art Stories or Creating
with Clay. For children grades K-6 the Emerson features art experiences in a wide range of
media including clay, for President’s Day, Early Release Days and Spring Break Art Camp,
Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm, March 11-15. In addition, for young ceramics enthusiasts we
offer after school pottery on the wheel or hand building for ages 8-13. Two additional after
school classes include: Art Around the World and Drawing and Painting.
The Emerson’s winter session of art education for all ages runs from January through
March with classes and workshops for all ages in pottery, painting, drawing, printmaking, crafts
and mixed media. Our classes are interdisciplinary and multi-cultural and are taught by
professional artist-educators. A complete listing is now available on our website:
