The Artists’ Gallery welcomes four new artists as members to Bozeman’s only cooperative gallery. Alaskan illustrator MACK, functional woodworker Jess Tode, realistic watercolorist Spencer Simon, and whimsical painter Cindy Zullo will be the featured artists for the month of July.

MACK’s art reflects her Alaskan upbringing, love of the West, mountains and water. Her characters are multi-ethnic to represent the world family we all belong to and are based on Yup’ik Eskimo masks from her childhood.
Jess Tode uses mostly locally acquired wood to create his exquisite woodturned bowls and vessels. He has discovered that people in this area tend to get quite attached to their trees, so when one needs to be taken down, what better way to remember it than with a handmade bowl.
Spencer Simon’s paintings have one or two reoccurring elements, rust and wood. He explores how the forces of nature — water, wind, and, more importantly, time– alters things. His paintings of old barns, houses, trucks and cars tell a story of how natural processes gives manmade objects a life of their own.

Cindy Zullo was drawn to painting through her love of observation. She finds the world a place full of beauty and awe.   Painting is an avenue for her to express that wonderment.   Her intention is to explore the deep mystery that surrounds us, whether it be a Montana sunset, a horse’s wild spirit, or the intricate gesture of a figure drawing.

Come to the Artists’ Gallery in the Emerson Center, to meet the artists at a wine and cheese reception on the evening of Friday, July 13th from 5-8 p.m., during the Bozeman Downtown Art Walk.
