Emerson Summer ArtCamps

The Emerson is pleased to present a fun season of Summer ArtCamps for children grades K-
6. For children grades 3-6 one-week camps will be held June 25-29, July 9-13 and August 13-
17. The multi-cultural camps run from 9 am to 3 pm, Mondays – Fridays. During the mornings
children enjoy clay projects in Emerson’s Frances Senska Pottery and afternoons are spent
creating innovative art projects in the Emerson’s Art Room or on educational field trips. All art
materials are provided and weekly costs are $135 for Emerson family members or $160 for non-
members. Parents will provide snacks, lunches and beverages for their children.
For children grades K-2 the Emerson is offering a new Little Kids ArtCamp July 9-13, Monday
— Friday, 9am -11:30 am with fun, age-appropriate art activities taught by experienced arts
educators. All art materials are provided and weekly costs are $65 for Emerson members or $75
for non-members. Parents will provide snacks and beverages for their children.
Emerson’s ArtCamps include exciting projects in pottery, drawing, journaling, printmaking,
painting, sculpture collage and mixed media. Children will also enjoy art projects with guest
artists, participate in outdoor recreation, and experience Emerson galleries. Projects include Eco
art twig weaving, solar printmaking, Chippewa Dream Catchers, Adindkra Designs from Africa,
Suncatchers, and collaged time capsules.
Emerson’s ArtCamps are taught by trained arts educators, Elizabeth Healy, Nina Matos, Valerie
Ferguson, and Vanessa Rogers. Elizabeth and Nina are trained, certified and experienced
elementary school teachers. Valerie is extensively trained in visual arts and theater design.
Vanessa is a professional ceramic artist and teaches pottery classes for the Emerson. These
teachers have over 60 years of combined teaching experience! For more information and
