The Cold Smoke Awards celebrates winter culture by creating a space for innovative artists, dedicated athletes, and those inspired by life in the mountains. This is a diverse festival committed to fostering up and coming talent, as well as showcasing some of winter’s biggest names. The live show takes place at the Emerson, and brings stand-out talent to the main stage. Music, films, MCs, hosts, filmmakers, athletes, and presenters, all dressed to the nines in funky winter attire give this zany awards ceremony a passionate vibe only the winter mountain culture can attain.

This year The Cold Smoke Awards is teaming up with Toyota of Bozeman, Bomb Snow, and Big Sky Brewing. They are bringing Montana brands to 10 mountain towns throughout the Rockies to celebrate winter with films, music, and more. The People’s Choice Tour gives audiences the opportunity to view films in their entirety, and cast a vote on their favorite. Kick back and enjoy short films from New Zealand, France, South America, and of course, your local stash. Lift passes for Moonlight Basin, Bridger Bowl, and Big Sky will be given away at each stop. Two new awards are being introduced for 2012 in order to shine more light on amateur filmmakers. The LOKE Award is determined by the most votes for a film at any single People’s Choice screening.  Cast your vote on February 2nd, 2012 at the Cat’s Paw in Bozeman. In addition, a regional award will be given to honor those who shred locally. Help determine the name of this award by friending Winter Culture on Facebook and submitting suggestions. The winner will receive 2 tickets to the Cold Smoke Awards.

The new website is rich with content including trailers from this years selected films, a Point of View contest, online voting, and more. Content will be added as the People’s Choice Tour starts and the Cold Smoke Awards draws near on February 11th, 2012.
