Lungs, a Play by Bozeman Actors Theatre

Lungs, a play by Duncan Macmillan, opens a two-week run at the Story Mansion in Bozeman. Opening on May 14 at 7:30 pm, the show continues through May 23, performed by Bozeman Actors Theatre (BAT).

Lungs is both a love story and reproductive conversation set within the parameters of desire, integrity, infidelity, and environmental responsibility. Macmillan writes with the concerns of today in mind: as ocean levels rise, wildfires rage, trash builds up in oceans, and climate change worries the planet, how can informed members of society, in good conscience, bring another life into this world?

As Macmillan asks “what shall we choose to nurture?,” two individuals agonize over the choices of reproduction and environmental destruction, balancing their desire for a child with arguments of social responsibility and eco-guilt.

Andrew Rathgeber and Katherine Fried star in this fun, yet serious, conversation that must preoccupy the minds of many young couples today.

Bozeman Actors Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization founded in 2009. BAT’s mission is to present professional, thought-provoking, and adventurous live theater to the Bozeman community.

Tickets are available on the BAT website at www.bozemanactorstheatre.org for May 14-16 and May 20-23, 2021. For questions, please email BAT at bozemanactorstheatre@gmail.com.
