Crime and Punishment in America, Special Advanced Screening and Panel Discussion

MSU Library, the Department of Sociology & Anthropology, and Montana PBS are pleased to invite campus and community members to a special advanced screening of the forthcoming documentary series Crime and Punishment in America, directed by Lynn Novick and executive produced by Ken Burns and Sam Pollard. This four-part series explores 250 years of criminal justice in America, from the origins of prisons and policing to our continued fascination with crime. Join us for a sneak preview followed by a panel discussion on crime and punishment in the Gallatin Valley, moderated by Veronica Shepp, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology & Anthropology. Shepp teaches the Sociology of Corrections and the Sociology of Trafficking. Her research is focused on supporting survivors of sexual assault.
