26/27 Opera Season Audition

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION

Please bring sheet music and a resume or detailed written description of your musical and theatrical experience.

Opera Montana will be auditioning local singers & instrumentalists for the ENSEMBLE and following ROLES in our Winter 2027 musical ONCE:

Reza (female, 25-30 years old)

Baruska (female, 45-60 years old)

Bank Manager (male, 35-50 years old)

Da (male, 50-70 years old)

Svec (male, 20-40 years old)

Andrej (male, 20-30 years old)

Eamon (male, 20-50 years old)

Emcee (male, 20-50 years old)

Ex-Girlfriend (female, 20-40 years old)

All cast members are expected to sing, play instruments, and learn choreography. If you are interested in auditioning for ONCE, please prepare to:

Sing a musical theatre or folk song
Play one of the following instruments: violin, cello, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, electric bass, accordion, or percussion
Preferably execute Nos. 1 & 2 at the same time

Artists auditioning for ONCE may be requested for callbacks.

Opera Montana will be auditioning local singers for CHORUS and the following ROLES in our Spring 2027 opera CARMEN:

Frasquita (soprano)

Mercédès (mezzo-soprano)

Le Remandado (tenor)

La Dancaïre (baritone)

Moralès (baritone)

Zuniga (bass)

If you are interested in auditioning for CARMEN, please prepare one non-English aria or art song (preferably in French, though not required) that demonstrates your vocal and language abilities.

An accompanist will be provided. If you prefer, you may bring your own accompanist.
