National Night Out
On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Bozeman Police Department and Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office will host their annual National Night Out from 5 – 8 p.m. at Bozeman Pond Park. The free, family-friendly event aims to bring neighborhoods, businesses, and public safety agencies together to promote a positive partnership.
Bozeman Police Community Resource Officer Scott Vongehr, who leads the planning of Bozeman’s National Night Out, emphasized the importance of the event. "National Night Out is a fantastic opportunity for our community to connect with the police department in a positive, relaxed setting," said Officer Vongehr. "Our goal is to build trust and understanding between residents and law enforcement, creating a safer and more unified Bozeman. We want everyone to feel welcome, engaged, and informed about the resources available to them."
The event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including live demonstrations, equipment tours, face painting and balloon twisting. More than a dozen agencies will be in attendance, with everything from fire trucks to helicopters on display. Thanks to the Bozeman Police Foundation and Gallatin County Public Safety Foundation, there will be free food and snow cones for the first 300 attendees.
"We encourage everyone to come out, meet their neighbors, and enjoy a night of fun and community spirit,” added Officer Vongehr.
