Gardening in Montana Workshop

The Montana State University Extension Yard and Garden Program will host a Gardening in Montana workshop on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.

The workshop will offer an in-depth look at some of the most popular gardening topics in the state, including common tree issues and care, identifying proper tree locations, naturalistic planting design, beekeeping and houseplant care. Experts from a variety of horticulture, entomology and landscape design fields will share their expertise with attendees, according to Abi Saeed, MSU Extension horticulture specialist.

“We want to encourage everyone who is interested in learning more about gardening in Montana to attend our workshops, regardless of experience level,” Saeed said.

Montana Master Gardener members are also encouraged to attend and will be eligible to earn continuing education credits, according to Sarah Eilers, Montana Master Gardener coordinator. Master Gardener is an education and volunteer program coordinated by MSU Extension.

“Master Gardeners will benefit greatly by attending this workshop,” Eilers said. “Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other gardeners and experts, in addition to earning continuing education credits.”

Registration is $20 per attendee and includes lunch. Those interested in attending can register at bit.ly/msu2024gardening. Participants should register by May 15 for guaranteed lunch options.
