"Ant-Man" Movie Screening and the Wonderful World of Ants

Join us to celebrate one of nature’s most fascinating creatures: Ants! Learn more about these tiny communal creatures from Miles Maxer, a Ph.D. student in entomology and one of the world's leading experts in ants. Learn about ant behavior, ant superpowers, and what the movie "Ant-Man" gets right and what it gets wrong. Snack on a crunchy treat made of ants and enjoy a screening of the Marvel movie "Ant-Man."
This program complements the exhibit "Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross."

About Miles Maxer Miles is an early-career entomologist passionate about science communication, public policy, and storytelling. Having kept ants for over a decade, Miles has become a world expert on the captive rearing of ant colonies and is the Founder and Director of The Ant Network. Currently, a Ph.D. student & NSF Graduate Research Fellow, at the University of Florida. Max received his B.S. at Montana State University but had to leave Montana to chase and study his favorite arthropod
