How Might the 2022 Election Results Affect Us?

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Montana State University will present “How Might the 2022 Election Results Affect Us?” at a Nov. 11 Friday Forum. The event will be delivered online via Zoom from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Statewide the composition of the 2023 Montana Legislature could have lasting impacts in many areas, including Montana’s constitution. The composition of the U.S Congress will also affect many aspects of life in our community. What can we expect? State Senator JP Pomnichowski (D-Bozeman) and State Senator Gordon Vance (R-Belgrade) will discuss the election results and respond to questions from the audience. Sally Maison, board member of the League of Women Voters Bozeman Area, will moderate the discussion. Jennifer Pomnichowski is a member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 33. She assumed office on Jan. 5, 2015, and her current term ends on Jan. 2, 2023. She also served in the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 63 from 2007 to 2011 and District 66 from 2013 to 2015. Pomnichowski earned her B.S. in technical communication from Montana State University. Her professional experience includes chairing the City of Bozeman’s planning board for eight years. Gordon Vance is a member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 34. He assumed office on Jan. 5, 2015, and his current term ends on Jan. 2, 2023. He also served in the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 67 from 2009 to 2015. In the 2013-2014 session, Vance served as Majority Leader. Vance earned his B.A. in political science from Montana State University. His professional experience includes working as the general manager at Power Play Motorsports, sales manager at Team Bozeman, owner of a car dealership and sales manager at Bozeman Ford. Sally Maison has long served as the League of Women Voters Bozeman Area’s candidate forum moderator. She founded Wonderlust, now known as the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Montana State University. Participants must register in advance and no later than 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.
