Forward to the Moon
NASA's 21st century Artemis program (think the “new Apollo program”) is the next step in our mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of color on the surface of the Moon. The first of these rockets will launch this year - with planned crewed missions to the Moon orbit in 2024 and landing in 2025. Narrated by Kari Byron from MythBusters.
Halloween: Celestial Origins
What do you associate with Halloween? Trick-or-Treating, costumes, or astronomy? After all, Halloween is an astronomical holiday! Learn the Celtic history of Halloween, how it came from looking at stars, and how it fits into the seasons as a “cross-quarter day” during this new production. We will also explore the night sky and learn what planets, constellations, and stars will be out on your Halloween evening this year. (Ages 8 and up)
Cost: Included with membership
