Under the Montana Local Food Choice Act (SB199), which became law in April 2021, raw milk production is now legal in Montana for direct-to-consumer sales. ​​ AERO (Alternative Energy Resources Organization), in partnership with the Raw Milk Institute, is offering two on-farm trainings for raw milk producers to help build a network of informed Montana farmers committed to the production of low-risk raw milk. The goal is to support the sustainable Montana production of safe raw milk so consumer confidence in Montana cottage foods remains high and raw milk producers minimize their liability risk.
