Baroque Music Montana presents: La Boheme
Join Baroque Music Montana for a journey to 18th century Prague, featuring works of Bohemian composers Reichenauer, Tuma, Jiranek, Losy and Orschler. The composers’ names might not be familiar, but the brilliance of this unusual music is characterized by its endearing and warm character. Baroque Music Montana shares tunes and tales inspired by history on original, period instruments. BaMM presents concerts in public venues, house concerts, outreach performances, lectures, and an annual workshop on historical performance, often visiting the rural regions of our state. This program features musicians who have dedicated their lives to the entertaining and scholarly presentation of music from the 16th and 17th centuries, including California Institute of the Arts professor of violin and composition Andrew McIntosh, Portland Baroque musicians Annabeth Shirley, baroque cello, and Nate Helgeson, baroque bassoon, as well as Baroque Music Montana favorites John Lenti, lute, and Carrie Krause, baroque violin. These musicians also serve as the faculty for Baroque Music Montana’s annual Period Performance Workshop held in Bozeman Aug 19-21, open to students of all abilities.
