Music in the Mountains: Southern Avenue
Join us for another another amazing night of free Music in the Mountains in Big Sky as we welcome the Grammy-nominated band, Southern Avenue, to Len Hill Park in the Big Sky Town Center! Opening the show will be Big Sky’s own Dammit Lauren!
Signed to the legendary Stax label in 2016, less than a year after their initial formation, this Memphis-based band released their self-titled debut early the next year. Southern Avenue was an immediate phenomenon, reaching #1 on iTunes’ “Top Blues Albums” chart before being honored with 2018 Blues Music Award for “Best Emerging Artist Album.” 2019’s Keep On proved to be an even greater success, debuting among the top 5 on Billboard’s “Top Blues Albums” chart amidst worldwide critical acclaim, ultimately earning Southern Avenue their first GRAMMY® Award nomination, for “Best Contemporary Blues Album”. The band has played major festivals including Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Lockn’, and Jazz Aspen Snowmass.
The Park opens at 6, music starts at 6:30, headliner will play at 8 p.m. Admission is free! Please, remember that NO DOGS or GLASS CONTAINERS are allowed in the park. Also, this year we are partnering with Bozeman Health and the Big Sky Community Organization to make our events TOBACCO and SMOKE FREE!
