Reclaim: Exhibit Featuring John Isaiah Pepion and Robert Martinez
The Art featured in the “Reclaim” show challenges stereotypical expectations of Indigenous people through unique visual imagery. Coming from the Ledger Art Tradition and using antique map images, the Native Artists have incorporated symbols, themes, issues, and put an actual face to the place. Not just a mere “land acknowledgment”, we are telling our own stories, reclaiming our history, reclaiming our voice and reclaiming the narrative.
