Mike Beck's unique approach to songwriting and performing comes from a life spent pursuing his two loves, music and horses. His experience of living the life of a real working cowboy is reflected on his five CDs of original music, Life of a Buckaroo, Cowboys and Angels, Where the Green Grass Grows, Mariposa Wind and his latest release, Feel. His music tells stories of present day western themes: songs of the men and women who make their living with horses and cattle. Mike has the rare inside view that enables him to write songs both refreshingly authentic yet with a current musical feel. Mike has performed all over the U.S., Canada and Europe. He has toured with Ian Tyson, Michael Martin Murphy, and Ramblin' Jack Elliot. For the last decade he has been a featured performer at the National Cowboy Gathering in Elko, Nevada. Mike also conducts clinics to help people with their horses, and guitar workshops as well. Mike comments on the two passions of his life, music and riding the range in Montana. 'One you stay up all night, the other you have to be up early in the morning. They don't go together.' So, after punching cows and horses for a spell, he returns to music. When he gets his fill of the music biz for a while he pulls back the reins and puts a big 'ol sky above him. Catch him when you can, he's the real deal.
