Activists and Advocates: A History of Bozeman Women Creating Change

A key character in One Book One Bozeman's selection, The Cold Millions, is Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, a labor leader, activist, and feminist who played a leading role in the Industrial Workers of the World. If you’re curious to learn more about Bozeman's history and the fascinating characters that lived here, look no further. The Extreme History Project will give an online presentation on local history in honor of Women's History Month.

Join Crystal Alegria, the Director of The Extreme History Project, for this presentation on the early history of women’s activism in Bozeman, MT. She will highlight Bozeman’s notable activists including Mary Alderson, a feminist and suffragette and Mabel Cruikshank, Gallatin County’s first female legislator, along with organizations like the Sweet Pea Study Club.
