Winter's Bounty Farm to Table Feast

Gallatin Valley Farm to School is hosting their 5th Annual Winter's Bounty Farm to Table Feast on Friday, March 5, 2021. This collaborative event will highlight the importance of locally-sourced food and reminds everyone of the vital role restaurants, growers, and producers play in our community. This year, participating chefs, restaurants, and caterers will create a four-course takeaway meal, highlighting locally sourced and grown ingredients. From eggs to grains, cheese, and meat, each course will celebrate local fare. When you purchase a $125 ticket, $50 goes directly to the restaurant or chef to employ their staff and purchase from local growers and producers. $75 goes to Gallatin Valley Farm to School and supports their efforts to provide more meaningful and accessible program opportunities to connect kids with local food in our community. In November, several local chefs and restaurant owners came together to write a letter to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle entitled, “Help us Emerge Stronger Post Pandemic.” "We are reaching out to you, our community, with a heartfelt request: that each of you patronizes the local restaurants you love throughout this fall and winter. We will only emerge whole on the other side of this if we work together. And "together" is the keyword. Your favorite restaurants — particularly the locally owned establishments supplied by local producers that make Bozeman and the Gallatin Valley special — will not survive without you." This call to action resonated with Gallatin Valley Farm to School Staff and Board of Directors and ignited essential conversations between our local food community and Farm to School. It was then we planted the seeds for our "reimagined" Winter's Bounty Feast. "By patronizing your local restaurants, particularly those committed to the hard-working farm-to-table producers who supply us, you will be extending your support beyond us to everyone critical to our local food system: our farmers, ranchers, brewers, distillers, culinary craftspeople, processors, delivery drivers, and food distribution companies. By supporting us, you support the hard-working local businesses and individuals at the heart of our community."
