Foothills 16K

Welcome to the Foothills 16K. This is a 16-kilometer point-to-point style trail run. Runners will ride the mandatory shuttle from town to the start line in Sypes Canyon. Participants will run a 0.5-mile section of Sypes Canyon Rd at the start before running the Foothills trail for the rest of the race to the M parking lot where they will enter onto the M connector trail. The finish line, awards, and food will be provided in the Story Mill Park. If you're going for speed, get ahead on this short road section before the bottleneck on the single track. The course is primarily moderately technical single track with rolling climbs through pine forests, open meadows and sweeping views of the Gallatin Valley and mountain ranges beyond. The course climbs a total of 2,020 feet and reaches a maximum elevation of 6,732 feet. Once you reach the bottom of the M trail, follow the connector trail back into town, ending at the newly built Story Mill Park.

The race is limited to 300 runners. Registration is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once this limit is reached, registration will be closed.

REGISTRATION Cost is $60 (+processing fees) and includes: Post-race barbecue, beer (21+), and after-party with awards, games, music and more. We reserve the right to make race adjustments as needed based on directives from our Montana governor. In the event that we are forced to cancel this race due to COVID-19, your options will be determined at the time the decision is officially made. Shuttle Departure: 9:00AM Start Time: ~10:00AM AID STATIONS - There will be two (2) limited aid stations along the course. Our wonderful volunteers and event staff will hike this in for you, so give them a high five when you pass through. Both will be stocked with water and gatorade. - All aid stations are cupless. You may purchase a reusable race cup with your registration for $3. These cups are also available for purchase in-store at Bozeman Running Company. If you do not use this cup, then you must have your own bottle or cup in order to fuel at the aid station.

DROP BAGS - There will be a tent for runners to drop any gear bags while they are running. This tent will be located near the start line for runner convenience and your gear bags will be waiting for you at the finish line at Story Mill Park.

PACKET PICKUP -Located at Bozeman Running Company (126 E Main St) on Friday, October 16 from 10:00AM - 7:00PM. There is a quick race day packet pick-up near the shuttle bus pickup zone from 8:30AM - 9:15AM. Yes, you may have a family member or friend pick your packet up for you on Friday. AWARDS & AFTER PARTY - Located at Story Mill Park - Barbecue lunch, drink, corn hole, raffles, music & awards ceremony
