Implementing Tiny Homes as Permanent Supportive Housing
Although there are many examples from around the United States of tiny home villages, research on this kind of housing solution is currently limited. The vision for Housing First Village has been a community partnership for many years. After securing land for the development in early 2020, HRDC and partners intend to have the first phase completed by summer 2021.
HRDC invites community members to read the report and join the conversation via Zoom Thursday, September 3, at 11 am. Register here. Corianne Scally, Principal Research Associate, Urban Institute, will moderate this community discussion and feature fellow national, regional and local experts: Mary Cunningham, Vice President of Metropolitan Housing and Community Policy Center, Urban Institute; Katie Bonamasso, Senior Program Manager, Corporation for Supportive Housing; and Tracy Menuez,, Associate Director and Community Development Director, HRDC.
In addition to the recent report on the pilot study, the conversation will address the causes of homelessness, temporary and permanent housing solutions (including the permanent supportive housing model), and the role of services.
"As a learning and evaluation partner, the Urban Institute has helped bring an invaluable national perspective to the development of Housing First Village. We are proud of how far our shared Bozeman-community vision has grown through the years and look forward to serving our customers with this innovative model,” says HRDC CEO & President, Heather Grenier.
