Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Gallatin College Montana State University will host its Career Spark event virtually on Friday, May 15. Career Spark focuses on academic pathways and career exploration for high school students and aims to provide an opportunity to learn about the high-demand and high-paying Montana industry careers related to Gallatin College programs.

Career Spark will be streamed live from 10 a.m. to noon and will open with a Q&A session with academic advisers and a message from Gallatin College Dean Stephanie Gray. On May 15, high school students, parents, guardians, teachers and administrators will be provided a link to the event which will offer a welcome message from Gallatin College, a virtual tour and various 10- to 15-minute program videos that students may view according to their interests. All content will be recorded and can be accessed through June 15.

The program videos will highlight Gallatin College’s one- and two-year workforce certificate and degree opportunities, including demonstrations, interviews with current students and graduates, and information on Montana workforce and employment needs. Programs that will be covered include bookkeeping and business management; CNC machining; cybersecurity; drafting and CAD technology; health information coding; IT networking technology; medical assisting; and photonics and laser technology. Several of Gallatin College’s programs also offer early college classes that current high school students can enroll in to earn college credit and experience what a college course is like.

Career Spark will also share information on why Gallatin College and the Bozeman area are great places for students to discover their passions and start their college and career paths. Local industry representatives will be listed on the event webpage with information about current and future industry job opportunities.
