The Dance Center will present its 15th production of Nutcracker in a Nutshell, an imaginative and fast-paced interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s famous traditional ballet.

Deborah Yarington and Anna Hall, co~directors and choreographers of Nutshell, envisioned an alternative to the Nutcracker Ballet by taking the core ingredients of the classic and give both the storyline and music a creative twist each season. This unique production redefines itself each year, utilizing the growing talents of the dancers that can’t wait to participate year after year.

Nutshell 2019 will be a festive, fun performance. that begins with Clara’s holiday party. Ms. Anna Hall has planned yet another new spin on Nutcracker in a Nutshell by writing another new story and developing dynamic roles. Nutshell will have you dancing, singing, and mesmerized in your seat.

For a sneak peak of Nutshell, come to the Bozeman Christmas Stroll event, ’Tis the Season for Community Dance on December 7, Saturday at 2pm in the Emerson Theatre. Or on December 13 at 7:30pm, The Dance Center will take highlights from Nutshell to Aspen Pointe. The residents and families have watched TDC dancers grow up in Nutshell and consider them to be a part of their holiday tradition.

As with every year, dozens of parents and friends have been helping behind the scenes, creating costumes, designing and building sets, assisting backstage and otherwise contributing to the production. Much like the Nutshell itself, the “show behind the show” becomes a magical experience for all who participate; one that reflects the diverse Bozeman community and the true meaning of the holidays.

Nutcracker in a Nutshell is an energetic, family~friendly and original ballet that runs a spirited one hour.
