No one in contemporary culture can deny that the church in Western culture is losing its moral and theological influence. The Gallup poll analysts have firmly established a 20% drop in church membership in the last 20 years. With this in mind, as ministers and church members, all of us are witnessing the “graying” of the church, the inconsistent attendance of our younger adults, and the sparseness of children in our nurseries. If this was not enough, our contemporary politics are dividing the church, and driving many of our younger members away. How can the church rethink itself as she loses her influence on culture? Join us as we consider the origin of the church, what it has endured, where it is going, and how it can imagine and enact a new future.
