All in the Family: A Hemingway Evening
Join Valerie and Edward Hemingway at the library for a family friendly event on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00-7:30PM. The program will feature readings from their books, crafts, and Q&A with the authors.
A native of Dublin, Ireland and a long time Montana resident, Valerie Hemingway had a career as a journalist and publishing executive before she moved with her family to Bozeman in 1980. She is the author of a memoir, Running with the Bulls, Ballantine Books 2004. Her articles have been published in many magazines, including Smithsonian, Ski, and Distinctly Montana. She contributed a chapter to the recently published, much acclaimed, Bozeman from the Heart (Editors: June Billings Safford and Paula Beswick)
Edward Hemingway is a children’s book author and artist. He has written and illustrated the picture books “Bump in the Night”, “Bad Apple: A Tale of Friendship”, and “Bad Apple’s Perfect Day” for G.P. Putnam & Sons. He is the illustrator of the books, “Hemingway & Bailey’s Bartending Guide to Great American Writers”, “Of All the Gin Joints; Stumbling Through Hollywood History”, “Nine Irish Lives: The Thinkers, Fighters, and Artists Who Helped Build America”, and the children’s book “Tiny Pie”, all four written by his good friend Mark Bailey. His more recent books for kids include “Field Guide to the Grumpasaurus” for HMH, “Tough Cookie: A Christmas Story“, and “My Miserable Life“, (written by Francesca Lia Block) for Christy Ottaviano Books at Henry Holt. His next picture book with Christy Ottaviano Books is titled “Pigeon and Cat”.
