Todd Wilkinson and Rick Reese will discuss growth and the unprecedented eruption of development in Gallatin Valley and its permanent ecological and economic implications for the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem.
Todd Wilkinson is a journalist and author of several books, including the critically-acclaimed, “Science Under Siege: The Politicians’ War on Nature and Truth,” and more recently, “Last Stand: Ted Turner’s Quest to Save a Troubled Planet.” Wilkinson is founder of the on-line magazine Mountain Journal.
Rick Reese taught at Carroll College, served as Deputy Director of the State Commission on Local Government, and was the Executive Secretary to the Montana Board of Public Education. He was the founding president of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition and director of the Yellowstone Institute. Rick is a noted alpinist who took part in a famous rescue effort on the Grand Teton in 1967, featured in the documentary "The Grand Rescue".
