When you combine an artistic, contemplative soul with endless energy and an adventurous spirit, you discover Jacob Rountree, an Engineering student in Bozeman, Montana, who balances his love of exploring outdoors, with his passion for song writing and performing. Born in Albuquerque, NM, raised in Spokane, WA, Jacob dreamed of being an extreme skier, until multiple injuries forced him to channel his energy into a different passion that didn’t involve screwing bones back together.
His fans agree, the real flair and talent happens when watching him play live. If his audience isn’t captivated by his introspective lyrics and unique finger-picking, they are guaranteed to be mesmerized by his multi-dimensional performance.
Inspired by artists such as Ben Howard, Jose Gonzales, and Nick Drake, Jacob uses his percussive technique, while looping and layering dynamic rhythms, to create a rare musical experience.
Although he is a full-time (broke) college student, he has not let the long hours of studying deter him from composing, self-recording and self-producing his first album, The Common Hour. You may see him playing at local hot spots in Bozeman, or opening for local bands in Spokane. He truly is a one man show.
