Wild Rivers Film Tour
With one of the deepest snowpacks in years blanketing Montana’s headwater streams, one can only wonder what
shape our legendary rivers will take come spring thaw. Regardless of your connection to Montana’s rivers – angling, agriculture, paddling or picnicking – this year’s Wild Rivers Film Tour is your inspiration to start
dreaming big.
Now in its third year, the Wild Rivers Film Tour celebrates our love for clean water and free-flowing streams.
Juried films document a veteran’s path to healing through river guiding, the marriage of research and recreation to preserve Peru’s free-flowing Rio Maranon, the fate of the Yellowstone River in a tale told from a Paradise Valley rancher, the loss of the Dolores and her near-famous female champion, and a speed decent through the Grand
Canyon of the Colorado River.
Six magnificent films carry the audience through 100 minutes of emotional and exhilarating cinema. The 2018 selections include the world premier screening of Last Call, U.S. premier screening of Confluir, as well as The Time Travelers, Chicken Raper (AKA Stateline Rapid), Vallecito, and Return from Desolation.
American Rivers and the Greater Yellowstone Coalition will host the Wild Rivers Film Tour in celebration of the
50th Anniversary of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act – a national river protection designed to keep rivers clean and free-flowing.
The Wild Rivers Film Tour will travel to communities across Montana.
