Wasted: The Story of Food Waste

the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, MSU Office of Student Engagement and the Bozeman Doc Series present a special screening of the critically acclaimed new documentary, Wasted: The Story of Food Waste. The event is part of GVFB’s annual Can the Griz food drive and proceeds will go toward supporting the local food bank. GVFB will also be collecting donations in the lobby before and after the film, and attendees are urged to bring a can of food to donate. Wasted aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of culinary luminaries like Anthony Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. This entertaining and illuminating documentary exposes the criminality of food waste and shows how each of us can make changes - no matter how small - that will lead to new ways of using more food, feeding more people, curbing environmental damage, stimulating technology and business, and ultimately improving the health and well-being of all citizens worldwide. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at the door or before the show at Cactus Records and Movie Lovers. Tickets are also available online at www.bozemandocseries.org.

Cost: $8-$10
