Trophy
On Sunday, October 22nd, at 7pm at the Emerson Center, The Bozeman Doc Series presents the critically acclaimed new documentary, Trophy. Shaul Schwarz’s and Christina Clusiau’s Trophy is a startling exploration of the evolving relationship between big-game hunting and wildlife conservation at a time when endangered African species such as elephants, rhinos and lions march ever closer to extinction. Trophy investigates the powerhouse industries of big-game hunting, breeding and wildlife conservation. Through the eyes of impassioned individuals who drive these industries – from a Texas-based trophy hunter to the world’s largest private rhino breeder in South Africa – the film grapples with the consequences of imposing economic value on animals. What are the implications of treating animals as commodities? Do breeding, farming and hunting offer some of the few remaining options to conserve our endangered animals? Trophy will leave you debating what is right, what is wrong and what is necessary in order to save the great species of the world. Trophy world-premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival to widespread critical acclaim, and has gone on to screen at major festivals around the world. "Layered, thoughtful and infinitely curious...filled with astonishing sights...an extraordinary documentary.” The New York Times “A brilliant, maddening, necessary movie." RogerEbert.com “Capturing footage as unbelievable as the disturbing underworld of big-game hunting it seeks to understand, “Trophy” tells a story as captivating as its images are beautiful.” Indiewire “Complex, challenging…‘Trophy’s’ wealth of conflicting facts, figures, and arguments routinely force one to re-calibrate their feelings about the issues at hand. The result is a lament for both the animals at the center of so many crosshairs, and for a modern world seemingly only capable of saving lives by taking them…its ability to enrage, enlighten and confound in equal measure make it a non-fiction prize of this year’s Sundance Film Festival.” Variety Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at the door or before the show at Cactus Records and Movie Lovers, and online at www.bozemandocseries.org,wh The Doc Series is also looking for volunteers for the 2017-2018 season. SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Returning for a fourth season in 2017, the Bozeman Doc Series continues to cement its status as a vital event in Bozeman’s cultural landscape. Our third season continued to build on the series’ success, with average attendance increasing for the third straight year. The fifteen films and nine shorts screened in Season Three took audiences from the streets of Istanbul to the shores of the Faroe Islands to the dusty backroads of the Indian countryside. This year, the series will continue to present major festival winners, and the very best of the wide range of documentary styles and subjects from around the world. From environmental dramas to political profiles to intimate, personal stories, these films open our eyes to worlds we would otherwise never see. Sponsorship with the Bozeman Doc Series will get your company’s logo in front of thousands of Bozeman residents each year. There will be a minimum of fourteen screenings in Season Four, beginning on October 8th, and running at least through April 19th. All sponsorships run the entire season unless otherwise noted, and will continue through any screenings added at the end of the season. Before each film, advertising slides containing all of the sponsors’ logos will be projected on the screen for the thirty minutes before the previews begin. After the ad slides, there will be previews of upcoming films, and a Bozeman Doc Series trailer, which will include clips from upcoming films as well as each sponsor’s logo. The higher the sponsor level, the more prominent and longer the duration of the logo in both the ad slides and sponsor trailer. You can see the Season Three sponsor trailer at www.bozemandocseries.org. You can also see a sample of the ad cards on the Become A Sponsor page of the website. |
We are also open to In-Kind and trade proposals. Please include a description and estimated value of your barter with your sponsorship form or email. |
