Hazel Hue
Alex Koukov (banjo, guitar, vocals) and Bridger Dunnagan (octave mandolin, fiddle, vocals) are good friends and were bandmates in the Bozeman-based bluegrass band “the Hollowtops” for several years. Now, they are channeling their musical endeavors into a duo, Hazel Hue. Their name comes from one of their favorite songwriters, Townes Van Zandt: “Her age is always 22, her laughing eyes a hazel hue.” The original music the band has created displays influences from bluegrass and old-time music, with a fresh blend of a modern, progressive flavor. A set of Hazel Hue’s stage performance contains a mixture of bluegrass, old time, classic American folk songs, and saucy covers.
