Old Main Gallery and Framing will host the featured exhibition “Summer Moods” by Charles Fulcher during the month of June. You are invited to join us for an Opening Reception on Thursday, June 1st, from 5-7pm. Fulcher’s vibrant paintings have been described as edgy, fresh, and full of energy. He believes that colors should be bright and dramatic. He wants the painting to come alive with bold hues and dramatic contrast. Charles follows his own compass as a painter: blazing his own path and creating his own style, unencumbered by any boundaries. This body of work represents some of the variety of imagery that has shaped the style and pallet that defines a Fulcher painting. “I begin each painting with a black canvas and paint the negative area of the composition first. This allows me to paint the light in the painting. Then, the absence of color creates line and form. The imagery emerges from the canvas, and the composition begins to take shape.” Fulcher obtained a Bachelor of Art degree from Montana State University and worked for years in Graphic Design. He has been a member of the Great Falls Advertising Federation (Ad Club) for over 15 years. Charles Fulcher’s paintings are held in private and public collections nationwide.
