Scientist Shawn Baker to Speak at Museum of the Rockies. It is a free, public event entitled “The Power, Promise, and Perils of Genomics.” Bozeman, MT – Acclaimed scientist, Dr. Shawn Baker, will speak at the Museum of the Rockies, Friday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hager Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Free tickets are needed and can be found at www. headwatersacademy.org. Headwaters Academy is hosting this event as a part of the Headwaters Academy Speaker Series. Light refreshments are served when doors open, starting at 6:30 p.m. Having won an Outstanding Speaker Award from the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC), Baker intrigues audiences with his stories. For students, parents, and adults, Dr. Baker will explain the exploding field of genomics, illustrating it with stories of how young patients have been helped by sequencing their DNA. The information gained expands the boundaries of science and helps doctors diagnose and treat diseases.
