The 17th annual Winter Classic adult hockey tournament is to be held over President’s Day weekend in Bozeman. It is the first large-scale adult tournament to take place on the recently opened Ressler Motors Ice Rink at the Ice Barn. Starting Friday, February 17th, twenty local and visiting teams begin a forty-game tournament schedule. Games take place on the Ressler Motors Ice Rink at the Ice Barn and the ice rink in Haynes Pavilion. Each night the Senior A Bozeman Stingers will go head-to-head with the Jackson Hole Moose in Haynes Pavilion. For seventeen years the Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association (BAHA) has organized this adult only tournament, with the popularity increasing annually. The Winter Classic is BAHA’s largest tournament. The availability of two indoor ice rinks allowed BAHA to accommodate additional teams, and provide more convenient game times. “Not only is this tournament a hit with the local and visiting players, it is really fun for spectators. The energy of the rink during the tournament is unreal.” Says Communications Director, Layne Fisher “Now that we can span two indoor rinks, have more convenient game times, and welcome more teams, I can only imagine how fun this upcoming weekend will be for the folks here to play and here to watch.”

Games run from 1-10pm on Friday, 8am-10pm on Saturday, and 7am-3pm on Sunday; with the championship games taking place at 12:30pm and 1:50pm. Bar 3 BBQ is serving food all weekend while games are scheduled. There will be beer and wine for the twenty-one and over crowd.
