The Tipping Point Series: Forming our Ethical Landscape: How We Act Through Faith, Innovation, and Motivation

In today's political environment, we are seeing some aspects of faith pitted against science. However, are faith and science so far apart? Through a panel discussion, the second event in the Tipping Point Lecture Series will explore how we establish our ethics regarding land use, and how we can act through faith, innovation and partnership to ensure our personal and community ethics guide progress. Panelists will include: Betsy Quammen, professor of World Religions and Culture at the Yellowstone Center for Faith, Adventure and the Arts; Nate Podgajny, Young Adult and Family Ministries Director at Pilgrim Congregation United Church of Christ; and Susan Higgins, a member of the Crown of the Continent team at the Center for Large Landscape Conservation. Conversation is encouraged at the Tipping Point Lecture Series. If you are trying to wrap your head around conflicts in faith and science, we encourage you to join this exchange of ideas. The event will be on Monday, February 13th at 7pm at the Bozeman Public Library Small Conference Room. It is free and open to the public. The Tipping Point Lecture Series is brought to you by the Yellowstone Center for Faith, Adventure and the Arts, a new community center serving Bozeman with park space, trails, athletic and arts facilities, a community cafe, and the Yellowstone Theological Institute and the Klein Gilhousen Center for Religion and Science. It is the goal of TYC to provide an open forum for dialogue central to faith and current issues, allowing for a greater understanding of the diverse thoughts and opinions in our community. Future Tipping Point lectures will explore faith and the arts, faith and ecological conservation, faith and civil rights, and faith and science.
