East of the Sun, West of the Moon
This full-length play, presented by TATE Academy students, is a beautiful adaptation of the Norwegian folktale, East of the Sun, West of the Moon. The story is a lesson dealing with bullying, friendship, bravery, family, trust, and hope. The Troll Queen, in fairytale fashion, has changed the Prince into a fierce white bear.He is befriended by a brave, young girl. Because this girl threatens the Queen’s magic, the Queen sends two of her most terrible troll henchmen to imprison the bear. To save him, the girl seeks the help of the Mother of the Winds. This Norwegian interpretation of “Beauty and The Beast” is charming, adventurous, and classic.
