Cinematic Lunacy With MT Jazz Collective
On Saturday, October 29th at 7pm, the Bozeman Film Society presents a thrilling plunge into the mind of insanity with a screening of the 1920 cinematic masterpiece, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. One of the most influential films of the silent era, this groundbreaking German Expressionist film is presented with an original, live score by Bozeman’s own MT Jazz Collective. Arguably the first true horror film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligary remains terrifying nearly a century after it first stalked the screen.
MT Jazz Collective musicians Adam Greenberg, Chris Cundy and Alex Robilotta will bring their own twisted touch to this sinister masterpiece about a hypnotist (Werner Krauss) who travels the carnival circuit displaying a somnambulist named Cesare (Con-rad Veidt). This is the mother lode of the horror genre—prepare for a full smorgasbord of eye-popping terror, lunatics, murderers and possessed somnambulists!
