Confluence Films "PROVIDENCE" World Premiere
Bozeman-based Confluence Films is pleased to announce the release of their fifth, full-length fly fishing film PROVIDENCE scheduled to premiere in Bozeman, October 2016. Confluence Films’ Chris Patterson and Jim Klug, Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventure’s Camille Egdorf, and South African guides Gerhard Laubscher and Tim Babich have teamed up for an amazing journey that is based upon a return to the remote and uninhabited Seychelles atoll of Providence, located in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The new film chronicles the first trip back to Providence Atoll since the waters were closed to all fishermen and boat access in 2009 due to hijackings and the continued threats and activities of Somali pirates. The team returned in October of 2015, spending several weeks exploring the atoll and fishing for multiple flats species including giant trevally, bluefin trevally, bumphead parrotfish, bonefish, IndoPacific permit, triggerfish, milkfish and more. Filmed on location in the Seychelles, Africa, Montana and Alaska, the end result is an amazing and exciting story of adventure, piracy, challenging fish, Indian Ocean history, and the exploration of some of the world’s most untouched flats. While filmed primarily in the Seychelles, the new film has several direct ties to Montana. Camille Egdorf – who is featured in the film – is a Montana native, a long-time Bozeman resident, and a former student of Montana State. Jim Klug and Chris Patterson – the owners and founders of Confluence Films – are long-time Bozeman residents. Two of the films primary partners are Bozeman-based companies Simms Fishing Products and Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures.
