Toby Thompson is the author of five books of nonfiction: Positively Main Street--Bob Dylan's Minnesota, Saloon, The '60s Report, Riding the Rough String--Reflections on the American West, and Metroliner--Passages: Washington to New York. His articles have appeared in Vanity Fair, Esquire, Outside, Big Sky Journal, Men's Journal, Gray's Sporting Journal, GQ, The New York Times, Playboy and many other publications. He teaches nonfiction writing in the creative writing program at Penn State. He lives in Livingston, Montana and Cabin John, Maryland.
